Liza Rivera — Beauty Icons
Liza Rivera’s makeup for Complex’s “Beauty Icons” — the feature that sat her beside Taral Hicks and Charli Baltimore to talk beauty, on the record — was Rebecca Lee’s work.
The Feature
A face of an era, in her own words
For Complex’s “Beauty Icons,” Liza Rivera sat alongside Taral Hicks and Charli Baltimore to talk skincare, makeup and the music-video years that made her one of the defining faces of a generation. Her makeup for the feature — photographed by David Cabrera — was Rebecca Lee’s, and the feature’s credit line for her section reads exactly that: Makeup: Rebecca Martin, Rebecca’s name as published.
The Philosophy
Simple, faithful, unbothered
Liza’s beauty philosophy, in her own interview, is the discipline Rebecca builds on: wash the day off every night, keep a short list of products that have earned their place, and let makeup be for going out — not a daily negotiation. It is skincare as ritual rather than routine, which is precisely the skin Rebecca’s glam is designed to meet.
The Standard
Two icons, one chair
The “Beauty Icons” feature holds a rare distinction on Rebecca’s roll: she was the makeup artist for two of its three women — Liza Rivera, and Charli Baltimore, who told Complex she loves when Rebecca Martin does her makeup. Different faces, different philosophies, one standard in the chair.
