The Job
Rebecca was engaged to provide Mary J. Blige's makeup for the halftime performance — a Knicks–Pacers night at Madison Square Garden, with the whole building's attention converging on a single set. There is no hiding in a halftime show: the artist walks to center court and the cameras find her face first.
The Look
The look — seen in Rebecca's portfolio in blue satin — was glam with architecture: skin and definition composed to read from the court to the highest row, and to hold under broadcast cameras and arena light through a full performance.
The Moment
Halftime at the Garden is a headline slot, and “Family Affair” is the record the building came up singing. Rebecca's chair was part of the machinery of that night — the face New York watched belonged, in part, to her hands.
